Stereofusion is a high-energy rock band that has established itself as one of Ireland’s most respected and sought after wedding/covers bands. Such is the band’s popularity that it has been asked to travel to Germany four times a year to play.
Stereofusion’s members are Andrew (Lead Vocals/Guitar), Mark (Lead Guitar) and Claire (Bass/Vocals). Frontman Andrew Bennett’s energetic delivery engages the audience from the first note right up to the last, his high-octane vocals contrasted with Claire’s harmonies make for a powerful vocal experience. Having both male and female vocals in the band makes Stereofusion incredibly versatile, meaning the band performs covers of everything from AC/DC to Florence and the Machine. If all that is not enough to be getting on with, another unmistakeable trademark of Stereofusion’s performance is Mark “ninja fingers’” outstanding solos and catchy riffs. Combine all of this with a healthy dose of humour and you’ve got Stereofusion in a nutshell!
Behind the scenes, the band has been busy writing for their eagerly awaited first EP, which they plan to release in 2011. The band’s influences range from rock gods like Rory Gallagher, Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin, Cream, AC/DC to lyrical geniuses like Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen and Joni Mitchell. The result is a dynamic songwriting team that is unafraid to mix intelligent, provoking lyrics with killer riffs, topped off with catchy melodies. It is a small wonder the results of this collaboration are highly anticipated.
In the meantime Stereofusion will continue to perform on the gigging circuit. The band’s setlist boasts an eclectic mix of classic rock and blues numbers, as well as some cracking contemporary tunes.
