James Huish and the Michael Buble Tribute Band
James has performed at the o2 arena for the Michael Bublé Bungalow B fan club girls… and a few boys. Members of Michael Bublé's camp agree that James is a great representative and ambassador of Michael Bublé's.
James performs songs by the greats, Mel Torme, Ella Fitzgerald, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra to name but a few. Couple this with modern swing songs and this show is electrifying and thoroughly entertaining. The impeccably orchestrated set includes songs by Cy Coleman’ “The Best Is Yet To Come,” (made famous by Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, and others). Then there’s the exhilarating, salsa-flavored “It Had Better Be Tonight,” written by Johnny Mercer and Henry Mancini, which James performs with real hot blooded passion, and with a real edge. From there, he takes on “Me and Mrs. Jones”, the 1972 Gamble and Huff classic popularized by soul singer Billy Paul. Leonard Cohen’s “I’m Your Man” from the Canadian singer/songwriter’s 1988 album of the same name. “Its is a truly wonderful song that always gets the audience on the edge of their seat, described by Bublé as “desperate, sexy, and dark,” Bublé says. “I actually called Leonard and told him I was afraid of performing it live. When he asked me why, I said because he’d written too sexy of a song and I was afraid men were going to throw their underpants at me. He just laughed and said, ‘I wouldn’t worry too much about that.’”
James has earned his right to perform in this amazing exhilarating show of such huge songs. James has grown as an artist from years singing in workings men’s clubs and smokey lounges, weddings and corporate events and many musicals which have really honed his performance skills. “ You have to connect with the audience, that’s what its all about, when your on stage it is more than singing, it's about entertaining people. My inspiration, like Michael’s comes in many forms. People like Elvis Presley. Ella Fitzgerald, Dean Martin, Bobby Darin and Sammy Davis Junior. They act they sing and they dance and they made people laugh. They were entertainers. Bublé was so right, when he said that it’s a lost art now.” James believes this form of pure entertainment is coming back. He says, “If I appear to be tall, it is because I am standing on the shoulder of giants” Musically you will never hear better songs written again.
James and the Michael Bublé 8 piece band promise you a night of sheer entertainment with professionalism and quality worthy of the music and Michael Bublé. Don’t miss the show everyone is going to be talking about.
This act can also be booked as a solo show for drinks receptions or after dinner.
The band also cover a wide range of classic charts if required.
