Dolce Duo is a highly experienced Dublin-based flute and violin duo that provides beautiful music and a professional service to make your special day a memorable occasion. As musicians, we understand the contribution that music can make to your wedding day and we aim to create a unique atmosphere by providing music that will be tailored to your needs.
Having extensive knowledge of repertoire, we would be delighted to help you choose music that will add that extra special touch to your wedding or civil ceremony. We can offer you a wide selection of classical, spiritual, traditional and popular styles of music.
Maryanne & Sarah are two of Ireland’s finest musicians. They met whilst studying for their undergraduate performance degrees in DIT Conservatory of Music & Drama. Since then they have enjoyed many years playing together both professionally and for fun. They have performed at some of Ireland’s & the UK’s most prestigious venues, including The National Concert Hall, The Helix, The Olympia, The Barbican, London, Delfino Studios, St. John’s Smith Square London. They also enjoy having the opportunity to play together as a duo in intimate and personal settings, where the sonorous sounds of the flute and violin meld together so beautifully.
Sarah is a performance graduate of DIT Conservatory of Music & Drama, TCD and TCM, London, where she was awarded a scholarship to complete an M.Mus. under the tuition of acclaimed violinist Hu Kun. During her music career she has performed both as a soloist and chamber musician in Ireland and Europe. In 1998, she was appointed assistant violin teacher to Hu Kun and Simon Fischer at the prestigious Yehudi Menuhin School for children with exceptional musical ability. Since returning to live in Dublin, Sarah has enjoyed performing with a number of chamber groups and has continued to teach privately, as well as in DIT Conservatory of Music and New Park Music School of Music.
Maryanne graduated with a music performance degree in the flute from the DIT Conservatory of Music in Dublin. Following this, she obtained a post-graduate diploma in orchestral training at the esteemed Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. As a professional musician, she has performed with many orchestras in Ireland and Europe including the RTÉ National Concert Orchestra. As a flute teacher, Maryanne has almost twenty years experience and in 1997 was appointed as a tutor with the National Children’s Orchestra of Great Britain. She is currently teaching flute at St. Peter’s College in Dunboyne.
Dolce Duo also work closely with many of Ireland’s leading musicians and can offer the option of extending our duo to a bigger musical ensemble should you wish to do so.
